Getting Help
A big obstacle or frustration I felt while doing my undergrad was the lack of support or help with school. The problems were twofold:
1. Always working before or after school, which leaves little time for building relationships with other classmates. Even if I could, when would I have time to meet?
2. Guys that I have dated have been really nice and supportive in the ways they were able, but not one of them was able to help with school stuff. It would have been great to have someone who could read and help edit my papers or have someone I could discuss my readings with. Oh well.
What I am really happy about is that I think that is about to change with going into PDP. I have a few friends that have gone through the education program at SFU and UBC. They have graciously offered their insight (thanks Rob) and where possible resources (thanks Diana/Tanya/Nikki). Although I haven’t received my information package, I have been lead to believe from previous students, that PDP is a collaborative effort. This excites me because I work best when I can bounce ideas off others.
My goal is to prepare as much in advance as possible.
I hope to have more to say in the coming weeks.
